The half-human, half-demon Vergil is a major character from the Devil May Cry series. He typically serves as an antagonist, but also acts as a secondary protagonist in Devil May Cry 3.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Firstborn son to the devil Sparda and older twin brother to Dante, Vergil does not share his younger sibling's attachment to the humanity he inherited from the part of his mother, but rather seeks to emulate his father - both in terms of personality, and in terms of his tremendous power. His maddening hunger for power is chiefly tempered by the martial code of honor the Dark Slayer still follows - Vergil will refuse to use firearms, will directly challenge enemies instead of attacking them through an ambush, and may temporarily forego killing foes if their injuries mean they are not up to a proper battle. This all being said, his morals are nothing that should be relied on.
A brief affair with an otherwise non-descript woman from Mundus saw him siring a son named Nero, but just as his old man before him, he has exceptionally poor parenting skills. After having spent some time unwilling serving the demon prince Mundus under the monicker Nelo Angelo, Vergil furthermore "gave birth" to Urizen (his demonic half) and V (his human half) in an attempt to tear the two asunder and strengthen the demonic one.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Vergil debuted in 8chanmania L, and promptly got bleached by the collective nihilism of The White.
He and Nero formed a tag team for 8chanmania LXV. Raiden and Jetstream Sam were too busy bickering with one another as if that they could provide them with much of a challenge, as were Mecha Hitler & Cool Hitler. The two demon slayers eventually found an unlikely end when they met /bmn/'s own Agent 00 and Carlos Diaz.
