Yoko Taro is a Japanese game developer, chiefly known for the Drakengard and NieR series.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Adored by his fans with an almost religious reverence; Taro is famous for his 'Reverse Order' style of writing. In effect, this means he first comes up with a sufficiently depressing ending, and then sprinkles the events leading up to it with just enough hope to let the players believe they might be getting a happy ending. After which he obviously kicks them in the balls, anyway.
Taro himself keeps arguing that his games are not as dark as people see them as. Which makes it a pity he probably never met Zdzisław Beksiński. Other eccentricities on the part of Taro include his insistence of only doing interviews while wearing a mask fashioned after the NieR character Emil, and his fondness for pornography starring his own characters.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Yoko Taro fought in PilotMania. He had very understandable beef with and defeated UnregisteredHypercam2 for trying to spoil all of his games' endings. Taro next ran into Ulala, whose funky beats proved so irresistible that he danced straight out of the ring.
