Yukari Akiyama is a major character from Girls und Panzer.

Bio[edit | edit source]

Yukari Akiyama is a perfectly normal Japanese high school student with perfectly normal Japanese high school hobbies. Such as, say, serving as the loader for her crews's Panzer IV tank. As part of Ōarai Girls' Academy tank club, she and the rest of the main cast fight in regular tank battles-turned-sporting events against the armored elements of other schools, hoping to relight Ōarai's hitherto waning star.

Yukari is easily recognizable by the messy fluff of hair that tops her head. This and her cheerful attitude often paint her as something of a ditz, yet she also happens to be an extremely capable (or least extremely lucky) spy that has repeatedly infiltrated other schools to learn about their tactics and secrets just before Ōarai faced off against them. In her spare time, she likes to collect tank models and war memorabilia.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Yukari, managed by her personal idol, Heinz Guderian, fought in 8chanmania LXXXV. She originally was supposed to fight against Iowa from Kancolle. But since the Anon responsible for nominating her never specified just which Iowa he meant, the organizers had a bit of a giggle, and instead cast Iowa as the manager for the whole freaking USS Iowa. This proved fatal in that Yukari immediately began fawning over the legendary battleship, and couldn't have put much resistance even if she had wanted to.

Two weeks later, in tag team-themed 8chanmania LXXXVII, Yukari actually got to fight alongside her beloved warship. Unfortunately, they ended up fighting against The Engineer and his Zaku II. Even more unfortunately, the Engineer was just as enthralled by the Iowa as Yukari was, except he made far more liberal use of the hands to express his admiration. Disgraced, the IOWA tapped out and fled the ring.
