ZUN (real name: Jun'ya Ota) is the sole member of Team Shanghai Alice, and as such is responsible for the programming, music, and (infamously so) artwork of all mainline Touhou games of the Windows era. He also composed several music albums related to the games, served as the writer for associated printworks, and collaborated with Twilight Frontier to create the Touhou fighting games.
ZUN additionally worked on a few games not related to the Touhou franchise, such as Uwabami Breakers and Exit.
Aside from his prolific work (and the massive amount of fanart it keeps spawning), ZUN is chiefly known for his extreme fondness of beer, to the point that many fans expect he would immediately fall into a coma or die outright if he should ever turn sober.
8chanmania[edit | edit source]
ZUN's first debut was in 8chanmania XL, where he won against Todd Howard in the preliminaries and offered him his Bug Girl Wriggle Nightbug as a crossover character for Fallout 76. He would then go on to defeat the Parasite Eve protagonist Aya Brea even after the latter placed several dozen submission moves on him, but ultimately failed to win against Bob from Animal Crossing.
Judging by his own words, ZUN is well aware that "his" girls were captured by GLaDOS, and was seemingly asked by Yukari Yakumo to retrieve them.
