Aleksandra Zarya Zaryanova is a playable hero from Overwatch.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Zarya comes from a tiny village in Siberia and originally was a celebrated weightlifter before the resident horde of evil robots stormed one of the competitions she was attending. She thus forsake her life as an athlete and joined the Russian Armed Forces to protect her homeland from the robotic invaders.
In terms of gameplay, Zarya acts as a tank character whose mobile barrier charges up her heavy-duty particle cannon with each incoming hit. Fully charged, the latter can turn her into walking juggernaut of destruction, but her lack of other abilities means Zarya is a bit of a one-trick pony - powerful when supporting and supported by a good team, and virtually helpless without it.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Zarya only appeared in 8chanmania XIV, and nothing beyond her not winning a belt there is known.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- In truth, Zarya is a bastardized version of The Heavy in the same way Overwatch is a bastardized version of Team Fortress 2. The visual design (i.e, her being a turbo-dyke with the mandatory side-shave and eye-gratingly neon-pink hair) can be considered a statement in itself.
