Spike Spiegel is main protagonist of the Cowboy Bebop anime, movie, and manga adaptations.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Born in the slums of Mars, Spike used to be a hitman of the infamous Red Dragon crime syndicate before he switched sides and joined Jet Black - captain of the eponymous Bebop - as a by-the-book bounty hunter. He acts politely indifferent at best and comically lazy at worst, but since the sci-fi setting of the show barely masks its actual nature as a film noir crime drama, Spike's apparent apathy hits all the marks for your Hollywood hard-boiled detective.
Now, Spike wouldn't mind doing in random thugs and dealers so long as they finance his nicotine addiction (and the inevitable hospital bills for his lung cancer). But he has a bit of a past, and since this still is a film noir crime drama, said past routinely comes back to haunt him. A particular ghost from this past would be his old partner-in-crime, Viscious. Not because Spike left the Red Dragon crime syndicate, but because he pinched Vicious' then-girlfriend. It's a hot mess, really.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Spike's involvement with 8chanmania goes all the way back to 8chanmania II, up to and including his immediate defeat at the hands of JC Denton.
His sole other appearance was in the much later 8chanmania LXV, where he formed a tag team with the Mecha-Batman Roger Smith. The two got their respective asses handed to them by Adolf Hitler, who was represented by Mecha Hitler and Cool Hitler.
