The Fish Malk is the epitome of a poorly played Malkavian character from Vampire: The Masquerade.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Like all of the vampiric kindred, the members of Clan Malkavian suffer from a curse inherent to their respective bloodline - specifically, stark insanity. The actual extent of this broken blessing varies: Some Malkavians are well beyond the deep end and might believe they are Napoleon Bonaparte (or Bela Lugosi), while others have a method to their madness that allows them to pass off as relatively normal. Shared by all of them is the Madness Network - a sort of psychic link that allows members of the clan to unconsciously communicate with one another and has earned them a reputation as seers and soothsayers.
On the paper, the Malkavian's insanity makes roleplaying as one a challenging, but also very interesting prospect. In practice, the Malkavians tend to attract players which cannot differentiate 'clinical mental disorder' from 'LOL RANDUMB XDDD'. The resulting 'Fish Malks' (named after an illustration from Vampire: The Dark Ages) are roughly as annoying as the quarter-demonic Mary Sues encountered in more conventional fantasy games, and ideally should be killed off with the same well-calculated cruelty.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
A female Fish Malk appeared in 8chanmania XVII, but lacking records mean nothing beyond her not winning a belt has survived.
