Philip Banks, better known under the moniker of Uncle Phil is a main character of the show The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Uncle Phil is a judge and former lawyer that (reluctantly) took his nephew Will Smith into his mansion in Bel Air after the latter had gotten in trouble with some career criminals. Well-meaning but strict and with a tendency towards draconian punishments, he is the upper-class character foil towards his lower-class relative.
The cultural cleft between him and Will means Uncle Phil butt heads with him on more than a few occasions (not to the least because Will keeps cracking jokes about his portly stature). But at the same time, they have an educational effect upon one another - Uncle Phil learns to be less formal and/or anal about things, and Will is forced-fed one or two humble pies. Cue the happy ending.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Uncle Phil fought in 8chanmania LXXXI. He somehow threw Aniki out of the locker room and sent Stubbs the Zombie back to the grave, but was dropped from a great height by Brian Kadeem.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
- Uncle Phil's actor, James Avery passed away in December 2013 following complications of an open-heart surgery. Besides of his role as Uncle Phil, Avery also voiced Shredder of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
- The fact that Uncle Phil was in while Carlton was not is a goddamn travesty.
