Opa-Opa is the protagonist of the Fantasy Zone series. Some sources also consider it to have been Sega's first mascot.
Bio[edit | edit source]
Opa-Opa appears to be a sentient (and, as far as the manual goes, expendable) spaceship, possessing a bullet-shaped body alongside a pair of legs and a pair of feet. It is the sworn protector of the eponymous "Fantasy Zone"; which in turn consists of eight different planets.
By 1422 (or possibly 6216), the Fantasy Zone was alarmed over the near-collapse of the interplanetary monetary system. As it turned out, the evil Menons had misappropriated foreign funds from the Fantasy Zone to build themselves an army, and now seek to conquer the former with the latter. Opa-Opa thus sets out to beat the invaders and return some hard cash in the process.
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Opa-Opa's sole appearance was in 8chanmania XVIII. It neatly shot up it's old arcade rival Pac-Man and said good-night to The Noid, but then got dumped by Rottytops during the quarter-finals.
Trivia[edit | edit source]
