The Hacker is the protagonist of System Shock.
Bio[edit | edit source]
As his name implies, The Hacker originally was just another tech-savvy kid who enjoyed hacking into clandestine government networks by unloading an epileptic seizures upon his keyboard. Unfortunately, he got caught while visting the data logs of the Citadel space station, which in turn was a proprietary asset of the TriOptimum Corporation. Given the game takes place in a futuristic cyberpunk dystopia, this was kind of bad.
Still, there was hope. Although he was forcibly shipped onto Citadel Station itself, one exceedingly friendly TriOptimum executive, Edward Diego, promised to have all charges against The Hacker dropped. All he wanted in return was to have The Hacker convince the resident AI that Diego rightfully owned the entire place. Which merely required him to delete said AI's ethical constraints. What was the worst that could happen?
In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]
Neatly alligned with SHODAN's effective takeover of the tournament, The Hacker debuted in 8chanmania XLIX. His plan to fight his way to the top and throw a wrench into the AI's workings sadly were cut short by when he ran straight into another malevolent AI.
The Hacker gave it another go at 8chanmania L, but somehow ended up beaten ended up getting pinned by a literal potato. Said potato subsequently recruited him for her plans to wrestle the mania out of SHODAN's hands.
His last appearance was in 8chanmania LII, where he teamed up with Daniel Lazarski. The computer creeps were promptly thrown out of the ring by Buane and Scatman John. Despite of their loss, The Hacker still proved instrumental to the takeover of the mania by Hatsune Miku.
