Bio[edit | edit source]

Exodia was a beast of such catastrophic and unthinkable might that its body was split up into five distinct parts to discourage its use on the battlefield. Originally a type of monster bonded to a human spirit, the ancient Egyptians wisely trapped Exodia and others of its kind into stone tablets. At least until Maximillian Pegasus had the bright idea of turning the entire thing into a card game for children.

Exodia's overwhelming power meant that a player who holds all five cards (and hence body parts) of it in their hands would automatically win the game. This obviously was a huge gamble, as each player can only hold a total of five cards at a time, and hence has to blindly use or discard other cards in the hopes of drawing all other pieces of Exodia from his deck. Even the legendary Yugi Moto was only capable of pulling this trick once - if mostly because some kid with an insect fetish threw the corresponding cards overboard during a boat trip.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

The Head (and only the head) of Exodia fought in 8chanmania LXX. Even disembodied, it readily showcased its apocalyptic strength by KO'ing Kars of all the people. It went on to force the evil Ganondorf into submission, but ate a crit itself at the hands of Dracula during the quarter-finals.

Trivia[edit | edit source]

  • Exodia being divided into five parts quite likely is inspired by the ancient Egyptian god Osiris, who was likewise cut into five pieces by his jealous brother Seth. Osiris' wife Isis manages to resurrect him for long enough to get herself knocked up and give birth to the avenger god Horus. A younger Horus proceeds to get raped by Seth, but later tears his balls off and either destroys or exiles Seth from Egypt. The mythology of the pyramid people is a fancy thing.
