A living incarnation of france's old sense of chivalry, the GF13-009NJ "Gundam Rose" was Neo France's entry in the 13th Gundam Fight.

Bio & Specs[edit | edit source]

"I'll shall see you off with a funeral parade of Roses."
— George de Sand, while piloting the Gundam Rose

The apperance of the GF13-009 is elegant, graceful & chivalrous (see: kinda ridiculous), taking its aesthetic from french military uniforms of the 18th-to-19th century, with a big metallic cape covering its left arm, acting as a shield, and a napoleonic-style Bicorne for a helmet, the Gundam Rose embodies Neo France's desire to revive the old french code of honor and legacy

This Mobile Fighter was constructed with 1 person in mind: George de Sand, heir of house de Sand and Neo France's fencing champion and greatest duelist, and as such, it is built with an emphasis on close-combat. Gundam Rose's main weapon is the Chevalier Beam Saber, an unique type of Beam saber, a special blade crafted to be enveloped in the same type of energy as other Beam Sabers, resulting in a much more concentrated flow of energy and a more sharper (and pointier) energy blade, this, combined with the standard Mobile Trace System that every Mobile Fighter has installed, results in a robot suited for any true french sword fighter. Gundam Rose's triumph card however, is the Rose Bits: fully automated, high caliber laser cannons shaped like roses, that float around at incredible speeds in the battlefield, unleashing a rain of laser shots upon the target (Which are, to date, one of the few Bit/Funnel-type weapons in the entire Gundam franchise that, canonically, work in both 0G and in the atmosphere)

Like every proper super-robot, the Gundam Rose comes with its own set of finishing attacks:

  • Rose Screamer: A cage of pure energy generated by the Rose Bits that captures its opponent and blows it up afterwards
  • Rose Hurricane: A red vortex of energy and laser created when the Rose Bits proceed to encircle and spin around the target, trapping it and destroying it afterwards

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

During 8chanmania LXXXV, the GF13-009NF is deployed into the battlefield to uphold the honor and glory of Neo France in the ring. Its pilot was dismayed when it found his first enemy to be a lone Helghast Trooper, but his repeated offers for a peaceful surrender (of the foe, that is) were met with ignorance, forcing him to attack. Quickly deducing that the trooper's gas mask must cut off the oxygen supply to his brain, he gallantly pulled it off after defeating him and moved on to the next opponent. This happened to be Jetstream Sam. He insulted France, earned a crit, and that was that. De Sand's next opponent in the form of a bird-brained Cultist left him rather baffled, be he, too, was quickly dispatched. Scolding fellow Frenchman Lupin III in the semi-finals for giving France a bad rep, Gundam Rose moved into the finals proper and very nearly might have won them - were it not for a particularly mad dog.

Sometime prior to 8chanmania LXXXVII, the Gundam Rose was stolen by Lupin III and manned by his old flame Fujiko to serve as his tag team partner. This worked about as well as one might expect, and the two promptly were busted by Yang Wen-li and Walter von Schönkopf.

By the time of 8chanmania XCV, Claude Frollo had summoned the rather unwilling spirit of Jeanne d'Arc into the cockpit of the Gundam Rose, hoping to bring glory to france and wealth to his pockets. Amidst much french cursing, it defeated Brauggi, Yellow Devil, Clown, Madara Uchiha (who at least had the courtesy of getting rid of Frollo), and finally cleaned up the SS13 Janitor to earn itself the first /m/-held belt.

Gundam Rose (and Jeanne in it) hence had the chance to enter the grand finals of 8chanmania XCIX. The mecha would start off by beating Evolver at his own game, forced Alis Landale to take an office job at SEGA as a result of her defeat, and reluctantly sent Matthew Stevens back to the grave. It fittingly took another giant in the form of La Madremonte to defeat the massive robot.
For what little it was worth, Jeanne's emergency prayer as the still-confused spirit found itself locked in a disabled Gundam quickly reached God, and the latter whisked her back to the 14th century. There, she set out to live her life as she had been meant to be, which included leading the French army during the 100 Years' War - and being burned at the stake by the British. Oh well.
