The Polygon Team is a mid-boss from the original Super Smash Bros..

Bio[edit | edit source]

The Polygon Team essentially is a poorly-done copy of the actual fighters involved in the tournament - ranging from figures like Mario, to Ness, to Samus Aran. Utterly faceless and replaceable, they are inferior to their original counterparts in that they can't use special moves and are much easier to throw off the fighting platform than regular characters. Yet this lack of quality is made up by quantity - in their stage, the player has to battle a total of 30 polygon fighters, coming at you three at a time.

While perhaps included as some sort of inside joke about the Nintendo 64's polygon-heavy character models, the Polygon team as a band of proverbially faceless mooks established a tradition that would be continued by the Fighting Wire Frames in Super Smash Bros. Melee, the Fighting Alloy Team in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and the Fighting Mii Team in Super Smash Bros. 4 / Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

In 8chanmania[edit | edit source]

Three members of the Polygon Team debuted in 8chanmania XXIV. While it lost its preliminary battle against Clown, its appearance was already noteworthy in the sense that it was the first three-on-one match in the Mania. Much as with the original game, each individual edit had its stats severely nerfed, but the one-sided tag team match meant the active Polygon wrestler in the ring could readily swap with one of its rested colleagues before being taken down. That Clown won anyway was taken as a sign of the Honk's power.

It took its second chance at 8chanmania XXVII, this time making it into the best-of-sixteen after KO'ing Glover. Alas, Cornholio had already eaten and was not interested in copypasta.
